Looking to get your favourite radio station on your voice assistant? Here's how you can stream live on your handy new device!

After plugging in your Alexa device and downloading the free Amazon Alexa app or if it's already downloaded, make sure it's updated to the latest version.

Set up iHeartRadio on your Alexa app:

⦁ Open the Alexa app on your phone
⦁ Click on the menu and click Settings
⦁ Click Music & Podcasts
⦁ Click Link New Service and Launch iHeartRadio
⦁ Then go back to Music & Podcasts and click Default Services
⦁ Click Artist & Genre Stations and set to iHeartRadio

You are now good to start streaming our live stations with the power of your voice!

All you have to do is ask Alexa:

"Alexa, play [station] on iHeartRadio?"

For example
"Hey Alexa, Play ZM's Fletch, Vaughan and Hayley on iHeartRadio!"

If your voice prompt is not working, check that your language settings are correct:

⦁ Open the Alexa app on your phone
⦁ Click on the top left menu and click Settings
⦁ Click Device Settings then select your device (for Echo Auto, select More Settings)
⦁ Under Language select your preferred language

If you’re still having trouble, make sure you have set your location to NZ:

⦁ Open the Alexa app on your phone
⦁ Click on the top left menu and click Devices
⦁ Click Echo & Alexa then select your device
⦁ Click Device Location
⦁ Enter your complete address then click Save

For Google Devices:

Make sure you are running the latest version of the Google Home app.

All you have to do is ask Google - "Hey Google, play [station] on iHeartRadio!"

Unfortunately, Google Assistant is only available for ZM, The Hits and Hauraki but we are working on more!

For Apple Devices:

Make sure you are running the latest version of iOS.

All you have to do is ask Siri - "Hey Siri, play [station] on iHeartRadio!"
Sometimes Siri may not recognise your preferred station. If this is the case for you, you can fix the issue by creating a shortcut on the iHeartRadio app as per instructions below.
⦁ Open the iHeartRadio app
⦁ Listen to the station you want to add
⦁ Expand the player and click the three dots
⦁ Select Add to Siri
⦁ You can now record your own voice prompt shortcut

Using another device?

If you're using another voice assistant like a Google Home, an Apple Homepod, a Bixby device, Bose Sonos or any other device, you'll be able to find your favourite stations by asking:

__________ (Device) Play _____[station] on iHeartRadio

or ________ (Device) Play_____ [station] on Tunein
